Pictured Rocks National Lake Shore, MI

Sandstone cliffs, beaches, sand dunes, waterfalls, lakes, forest, and wild shoreline all encompassed with in Grand Island. The island is tucked away in a cove of the Lake Superior, one and and half miles from the mainland. Lake Superior is the largest, deepest, coldest, and most pristine of all the Great Lakes. Wildlife is abundant within the island and includes black bear, bald eagles, loons and moose. We will spend our time hiking, camping, swimming, cooking for ourselves, and exploring the island's hidden wonders. Participants will hike along the coastal trail and within the interior trail systems of the island and will camp and cook in remote back country sites. We'll also take time to explore outside the boundary of the park to find historic lighthouses and lifesaving stations. Hiking will range from easy to moderate depending on terrain. The trip belongs to the whole group, so every camper will be part of the leadership and decision making of our adventure.
